I'm BACK! I'm sorry I've neglected sending out my newsletter these last two years. It's definitely time to explain and catch you up on things. I thought I'd get more personal in this update, so I hope you won't mind me sharing more 'non-book' related happenings this time. I'm looking forward to sending updates and news about my next book release, and to learning more about you in the future!
But First . . . some reviews of LPD
I was excited and so appreciative to receive many reviews for Love's Perfect Design after the May launch. I'm including a few below. Last year, I submitted my novel to the Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Competition. I didn't win, but I did receive some valuable feedback from the reviewer and some wonderful encouragement as a writer.
Writer's Digest Reviewer
The author hits all the elements of a good romance novel and throws in a lot of fun suspense and mystery elements as well. She is a good storyteller who knows how to keep a reader engaged. The characters are the strength of the work. Main characters are fully developed, with clear goals and motivations. The hero and heroine play their roles well, but the author also flips the script at times, using secondary characters to add depth to the work.

A friend gave me this book, and once I started it, I could not put it down and read it in a day! . . . I am anxiously looking forward to the next book in the series!!

Came across this in a bookstore. Loved the cover and it did not disappoint!!! It had enough intrigue to keep me guessing on who the bad guys were and how it was all going to end. I have never read a story where the characters' interests included architecture and interior design ... making this story SO UNIQUE! 🤗For all the crazy twists and turns of this book, I continued to hope Dylan and Brynnlee would be endgame🥰. Swoooooon.

I loved the book. It was the perfect amount of romance, suspense, and mystery.

What a grand entrance Deb Rahn has made into the romantic suspense space! She designed her first book perfectly, from a gorgeous cover to a riveting plot to an ending that took my breath away, setting the stage for book two.The descriptive details in this novel take the reader on a journey into the world of luxury, prestige, and high-end design. Those elements combined with a sweet, kisses-only romance (with faith themes) and a tangle of clues make Love’s Perfect Design a fascinating and enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book and will be impatiently waiting for book two.

This book SPARKLES! It kept me totally fascinated from cover to cover. Each character was developed carefully, and the story's theme was new and inventive . . . Christian fiction with suspense, at its finest!
Charlotte - 5-Star Goodreads review
This book had me hooked from the very first page!

Deb Rahn is truly a new author with much to offer those who love something exciting and new . . . It is filled with drama and excitement. It is a rich read that can be enjoyed by anyone who loves a new topic, romance, and suspense. Whoever said, “You can’t judge a book by its cover,” was wrong in this case. The cover actually drew me to this book.
FAMILY FACTS

Switching gears, my family has grown to 20. My husband and myself, our 4 children, their spouses, and the ten grandchildren they have gifted us with. We've had a wedding and a new birth in these last two years, which added to our growing tribe.
My life drastically changed when I retired from the corporate job I worked for 17 years. Love's Perfect Design was started in 2018 and took many years of weekends and evenings to write because I worked full-time. When I decided to retire, the demands of succession planning and getting the team ready for my departure didn't leave room for creative thinking outside of work hours, so book two stalled. After retirement, I was sure I would find loads of time to write and be inspired, but . . . life happened.

Traveling - cruise in February, camping, and trips during the summer and fall.
Wedding Prep - I became the resident bouquet flower arranger
New Puppy - I remember now why motherhood is best done in your 20's & 30's
Crochet - swimsuit cover-ups for the bride, 13 purses for my girls for Christmas.

I also decided I felt like taking a year to get used to not working again, do all the things I hadn't had time for before, and just enjoy a year without much pressure.
I'm so happy to report that I am refreshed and ready to put my 'writing hat' back on. I have fun surprises and secrets planned for the remaining four books of this series. I'm sure I'll hit the writer's block 'wall' many times, but right now, I'm motivated.
It would truly inspire me to hear from any of you. You can follow and DM me on Instagram or Facebook. It will be so motivating and encouraging to hear from some of my readers!

In my last newsletter, I shared that our precious Pomeranian, Kayla, had health issues and we lost her in May of 2023. Many of you also know we got a new Pomeranian puppy a couple of months before that (Kassi - a white one), and she helped fill the void. But, because my husband must always have two dogs, in March 2025, we added a second puppy to the family; Kaylee. She is the black and white Pom in the photos below. With all of our kids grown and gone, these are now our "children," and I'm sure I'll be sharing more about them as we go on.

TOTALLY TRIVIA
Book Facts: The cover of my first book was designed by my 18-year-old granddaughter (who is now 21 and the one who was recently married - photo above), Callie Neill, with collaboration from my son Brenton, who is a fully certified Architect.
The two paintings Brynnlee cherished from her mother, mentioned in this first book, are actually two that my own mother painted for me. (Pictured below)
I'll be posting trivia facts in each newsletter*. You may want to remember them . . . it could mean a chance for one lucky winner to receive a free copy of Love's Perfect Match - book two!
